Youssef lives in Al-Arroub refugee camp, located in the southern occupied West Bank. Since the Six-Day War in 1967, the camp has been under Israeli occupation. Youssef´s childhood has been shaped by violence. Once, on the way home from school, he was injured by a “sound bomb”, a sonic boom caused by air force jets breaking the sound barrier at low altitude, sending shockwaves.

Hebron is divided into H1 and H2, the former ostensibly controlled by the Palestinian Authority and the latter under the control of the Israeli army, which protects about 850 Jewish settlers and the Cave of the Patriarchs, a site revered by Jews that sits alongside the Ibrahimi Mosque, worshiped by Muslims as the Sanctuary of Abraham. The tomb of the patriarch is in the middle of the building (Ibrahimi Mosque, from one side is worshiped by Jewish and from the other by Muslims).

نفوز، هي امرأة فلسطينية متزوجة من رجل يدعى محمود، وهو فلسطيني يبلغ من العمر 74 عامًا، عانى من ضرر إدراكي بسبب إصابته بسكتة دماغية ثم تعرض للضرب على أيدي الجنود الإسرائيليين عند نقطة تفتيش. وهو الآن طريح الفراش وتعتني به زوجته التي تكافح الحياة بعد المسؤوليات الجديدة التي باتت على عاتقها. عقول محتلة: دعم المرضى في تخطي محنتهم

ميرفت صبوح، اختصاصية نفسية في مشروع الصحة النفسية التابع لأطباء بلا حدود في الخليل. قدمت ميرفت على مدى الأعوام السبعة الماضية الدعم لرجال ونساء وأطفال يعانون من مشاكل تتعلق بصحتهم النفسية. عملتُ كأخصائية نفسية لدى أطباء بلا حدود في الخليل في فلسطين منذ عام 2011. عملي هو تقديم الدعم النفسي والعلاج النفسي لضحايا العنف، ممن عانوا من أحداث عنيفة كاقتحامات البيوت والإصابات أو ممن قُتل فرد من أفراد أسرتهم في أحداث عنف ذات صلة بالاحتلال.

Raed is a 43-year-old father of six children living in the Beit Ummar neighborhood of Hebron. He was shot in the hip by Israeli soldiers during clashes following the funeral of a Palestinian boy that was killed by Israeli forces. Raed is now unable to provide for his family and is suffering from depressive symptoms.

Every week, an MSF team of counsellors and health promoters puts on a play and conducts sensitisation activities with displaced people living outside and inside of Mweso school. Theatre is used as an effective means of health promotion and the performance touches on different themes, among them sexual and domestic violence. The MSF team use theater to present the different healthcare activities that are offered to people in Mweso.

اليوم العالمي للصحة النفسيّة 2018: تضميد ورعاية الجراح النفسيّة مهم أيضا

بالنسبة لأولئك الذين عاشوا العنف أو الكوارث الطبيعية، يكون البقاء على قيد الحياة أكثر من مجرد استتباب صحة الجسد. فحتى بعد علاج إصاباتهم الجسدية، يمكن أن تبقى الجراح النفسية متواريةً عن الأنظار. وتعمل طواقم أطباء بلا حدود للمساعدة على شفاء الجراح النفسية للمرضى من خلال الاستماع إليهم ودعمهم وتوفير الرعاية الصحية النفسية كي لا تستحكم بهم التجارب الصادمة التي عاشوها. تحديث حول مشروع - 10 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2018

برودجوت روي، 29 عاماً، هو مشرف صحة نفسية في أطباء بلا حدود، ويعمل ضمن فريق مركز نايابارا للرعاية الصحية الأولية في تكناف في بنغلاديش منذ يونيو/حزيران 2018. وقد لاحظ أثناء تلك الفترة الوصمة المرتبطة بتلقي خدمات الصحة النفسية في مجتمع الروهينغا، لكنه في المقابل شاهد أشخاصاً يجدون الطمأنينة في خدمات "شانتي خانة". تحديث حول مشروع - 9 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2018

أطباء بلا حدود تدين بشدة الاعتداء على موظفيها في مدينة الضالع وتعلق أنشطتها

تدين منظمة أطباء بلا حدود بشدة الهجمات على مجمعنا وموظفينا. ونظراً لشدة هذه الهجمات، فقد اضطرت المنظمة إلى سحب موظفيها من مدينة الضالع وتعليق برامجها الطبية حتى إشعار آخر. تصريح - 2 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2018
 
Mamotsieleli Molofotsane is around 20 years old she says. She has three children and is pregnant with her fourth. Mamotsieleli has been tested HIV positive and is on ARV treatment. Her three children have been tested HIV negative. To go to the MSF supported clinic of Ha Seng, she has to walk many hours. She already missed an appointment for a refill of her ARV drugs due to the distance and a problem with her feet. In Lesotho, the health centers are very scattered. Women have to walk many hours and sometimes even have to sleep overnight before they can reach the health center. As a result, many women have a poor adherence to their treatment. Some are not coming to the health centers on a regular basis. When a pregnant woman like Mamotsieleli doesn’t adhere well to her ARV treatment, it increases the risk for her to transmit the virus to her child. It also means that her treatment will not work properly for herself: she will get sick, resistant to treatment and ultimately risk death. Maternal mortality -linked to HIV- in Lesotho is one of the highest in the world.

لطالما اعتبرت الإجهاض قبل بدء العمل في المشاريع الميدانيّة التابعة للمنظّمة مسألةً سياسيةً أو جانب من جوانب حقوق المرأة. ولكنّني الآن وبعد أن رأيت يومًا بعد يوم بأم عيني حاجة النساء والفتيات إلى الإجهاض الآمن، فهمت أنّ الإجهاض بمثابة ضرورة طبيّة لها تأثير حقيقي على حياة الناس. مقابلة - 1 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2018

Nischaya (not real name) is 18 years old, lives in Mumbai, and is one of only a handful of extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) patients in India lucky enough to be able to have acesss to the new drugs. After having been on treatment unsuccessfully for several years, Nischaya was referred to the clinic of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organisation who since 2006 provides free diagnosis, treatment and support to patients with drug-resistant TB in Mumbai.
