Wide shot of an MSF staff during an emergency medical aid response in Samos island, Greece. Since August 2021, MSF has been responding to requests for emergency medical assistance to people arriving by boat on the island of Samos. This activity was stopped in November 2021 and resumed in January 2022. MSF is providing emergency medical and psychological first aid as well as emergency referrals to the hospital, distribution of food kits, water and dry clothes. In total, MSF has provided emergency assistance to more than 550 people on 41 occasions in Samos.

In June 2007, Israel and Egypt imposed a land, air and sea blockade on the Gaza Strip.
