GeoMSF
A boat taking MSF staff to the rural area of Portel travels through a river in the Brazilian Northern state of Pará. MSF is supporting local authorities in order to improve healthcare access to the town’s population. Portel has dealt historically with a lack of health professionals and facilities, particularly in hard-to-reach remote areas which are home to vulnerable river dweller communities.

نيجيريا

تستمر موجات تفشي الأمراض وسوء التغذية وأعمال العنف في تعريض حياة الناس في نيجيريا للخطر.
The situation for migrants at the border between Nicaragua and Honduras has worsened in recent months. Since the beginning of March, a new wave of people who are migrating has been crossing the eastern borders of Honduras. From January to March, more than 30,000 people have entered the country irregularly between the municipalities of Trojes and Danli, both border points with Nicaragua. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) mobile clinics continue to travel to different points in the area to provide medical and humanitarian assistance to people on the move. In the midst of these consultations, MSF teams listen to the stories of people who arrive affected by physical exhaustion and have experienced situations of violence that impact their mental and emotional health. This was the case for Natasha and René, who had to leave Venezuela with their puppy Juan Pablo to cross the Darien jungle between Colombia and Panama to Danli. Their testimony was captured in a coloring book to try to bring people closer to this type of situation in a different way; as well, to give health promotion teams something they can provide children waiting at border points with to awaken their interest in drawing, as well as use as a child-friendly support tool to help them see others are also facing this difficult journey. Like Natasha and René, between 80 and 160 people are treated every day at the MSF clinic for different health conditions. In 2022, the teams provided more than 17,000 medical consultations at two border points in the country: Danli and Trojes. Of these people, a large percentage are minors, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.

هندوراس

شهدت هندوراس سنوات طويلة من الاضطرابات السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية وتعاني من واحدٍ من أعلى معدلات العنف في العالم، ولهذا تبعات طبية ونفسية واجتماعية هائلة على السكان.
As a global financial hub, Hong Kong projects an image of prosperity and resource abundance. In its shadows however, consistently marginalised groups fall outside of the well-developed healthcare system’s reach. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has provided free primary healthcare to the homeless communities in Hong Kong’s Yau Tsim Mong and Shum Shui Po districts, the majority of whom are aged 50 or above, since August 2023. People experiencing homelessness in Hong Kong do not receive adequate medical care most often due to their lack of health literacy and inability to prioritise their own health and well-being. Responding to these unmet needs, MSF initiated a model of social-medical partnerships with local NGOs to deliver holistic patient-centred care, which MSF teams provided by offering regular basic health screenings, health promotion sessions and psychosocial support for people experiencing homelessness, while collaboration partners offered ongoing case follow-up. These local partners also received support in capacity-building to ensure continuity of care for people in the programme as MSF’s project came to an end in December 2024.

تقدّم أطباء بلا حدود الإغاثة الطارئة إلى الأشخاص المتضررين جراء النزاعات المسلّحة والأوبئة والكوارث الطبيعية فضلاً عن أولئك المحرومين من الرعاية الصحية في أكثر من 70 بلد. وتوفّر المنظمة المساعدات للأفراد وفقاً لاحتياجاتهم وذلك بغضّ النظر عن العرق أو الدين أو الجنس أو الانتماء السياسي.

كما تمتثل المنظمة في أعمالها لأخلاقيات مهنة الطب ومبدأي الحياد وعدم التحيز.
