As hundreds of patients evacuated Al Aqsa hospital and less and less hospitals are functional, MSF prematurely opened the field hospital with IPD and ER departments and started accepting the first patients.

Field hospitals are not a solution but only a response to the dismantlement of the health system from Israeli forces, it is the last resort to alleviate the pressure from the few existing medical facilities.

🌊 Intense night in the Central Mediterranean

🔵MSF team rescued 139 people in 3 operations. Competent authorities were informed accordingly.

During the last rescue, 37 went overboard, some of them were pushed. Everyone is safe on #GeoBarents, receiving care and recovering.

During the first rescue, 57 people were spotted in distress on fibreglass boats in international water. As MSF team finished distributing lifejackets and everyone moved to the rescue boat, an unidentified boat came to area where a person jumped into the fibreglass boat and drove away from the area.

During the second rescue, 45 people including 2 children were spotted in distress on fibreglass boats. While survivors were moving to the rescue boats, one person stayed and refused to be rescued, and was seen driving the boat away.

Later, 37 people were spotted in distress on a fiberglass boat. As the team was waiting for instructions from competent authorities, people were seen jumping into the water, some were physically pushed by a person who later drove the boat away. MSF team quickly and safely retrieved everyone.

For over 10 months, the war on Gaza forced more than 90% of the population (over 1.9 million people) to be displaced. Often forced to move often within minutes of the announcement of an evacuation order by Israeli forces, many have now been displaced numerous times. In Mawasi, Khan Younis, the Agriculture Development Association (PARC) with the support of MSF is providing water and sanitation activities including construction of emergency latrines in the informal sites, supply of domestic water through powering the water wells with solar systems, provision of drinking water through the installation of desalination plant and logistical support to displaced people arriving to Khan Younis.

As evacuation orders by Israeli forces is cramping people in a small area in the coastal area of Deir Al Balah and Khan Younis, the living conditions in Mawasi are getting worse. OCHA estimates that from the 22 July to 26 of July alone, more than 190.000 Palestinians were forced to move to the western parts of Dair al Balah and Mawasi,

The IDPs in Mawasi Khan Younis, southern Gaza, are living in dilapidated tents, overcrowded with many members of the family, without proper access to food, water, and essential services such as sanitation and health care. People are queuing for latrines for hours and are unable to regularly shower.

According to local officials, more than 59,000 people reside in the Pokrovsk region. They have been urged to take only their most essential possessions and leave their homes. The majority are fleeing the war by train, with carriages fully occupied. Entire families, often accompanied by their pets, are boarding these evacuation trains. MSF is providing medical consultations to evacuees at the railway platform in Pokrovsk and is on duty at train stops. "There are passengers with various chronic conditions, which can worsen under severe stress," says MSF paramedic Olha Tatsenko. "People are experiencing headaches, high blood pressure, and emotional overload. No one knows what the future holds," Olha continues. "After an examination, one woman was hospitalised. She had extremely low blood pressure and needs further tests at a hospital, including a cardiogram and ultrasound, to determine the cause."

The evacuation trains are stopping in Dnipro, the nearest major city from the frontline. Some evacuees are heading to relatives in safer regions, while others are seeking refuge in shelters for internally displaced persons in the western part of the country.
