Some people in the camp received jerrycans and water containers, while others are still waiting to receive one. Water distributed in the camp is salty, and they count on drinking water distributions or must buy bottles of water.

“A bottle of water costs 1,500 Yemeni rials (1 dollar), we cannot afford it. Ice costs 500 Yemeni rials, but it gets melted before even reaching the camp. We need clean water in these conditions” explains a camp resident.

These play sessions are part of activities organised by the MSF mental health team to help both the children suffering from malnutrition and their caregivers. Latifat says that she brought her daughter to the MSF facility after she fainted. Latifat narrates that she felt terrible when her daughter fainted. For days, she could not sleep because she feared that her daughter would not make it. Aisha has been on admission for five days. Latifat said that she has other children at home and is worried about them. Recently, she had to ask that her eldest son be brought to her in the hospital. He said that they were hungry since I was not around. That made me feel sad. Lately, I have been joining the group sessions at the mental health ground. The counsellors are very kind.
