These are the drugs Oksana Kolodiuk, 39, a patient with extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) needs to take every day for her course of treatment at the Zhytomyr Regional TB Dispensary. Oksana was diagnosed last August. In 2018, MSF started providing treatment for drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) to patients in Zhytomyr Oblast, in partnership with the Zhytomyr Regional TB Dispensary. In Zhytomyr, MSF introduced new oral drugs that are recommended by the WHO, including bedaquiline. These new dugs are essential for patients who have developed resistance to most of the older ones. Zhytomyr region has one of the highest rates of TB in Ukraine.

SOS Mediterrannee and MSF are reeling from the announcement by the Panama Maritime Authority it has been forced to revoke the registration of the Aquarius under blatant economic and political pressure from the Italian government.

The road the PoC camp and hospital to Bentiu is basically in bad conditions and unpaved and can make this trip to the administrative center, to a real challenge and can take several hours. Women are going daily for firewood or to the market, a necessary work to maintain families, especially kids. They suffer very often sexual violence, getting rapped or grabbed, meters from their home, a short dash from the UNMISS protected IDP Camp in Bentiu. A large number of the victims rarely report incidents, avoiding so to be ostracised by their families.

"I learnt in 2005 that I was HIV positive when I for a medical checkup. But the first time, it was my father who received the results from my tests and he did not tell me what they were. I returned to the hospital again with a friend of my mother and was tested again. That’s when I learnt I was HIV positive. I was stigmatised by my Aunty at first, today though I don't face problems. I am a counsellor in an MSF treatment centres for those who come for HIV tests."

MSF launched a HIV testing campaign in Conakry with the support of health authorities moving throughout several neighbourhoods throughout 2016.

In Guinea, only one in four people living with HIV are on life-saving antiretroviral treatment. Lack of voluntary HIV testing, estimated at only 5% from the latest study dating from 2012, hampers the necessary increase of people on ART.
