In response to the recent developments in Syria, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing critical relief to thousands of displaced people now seeking safety in Tabqa and Raqqa, northeast Syria. The newly arrived displaced people are yet another time on the run, as many of them have endured displacement multiple times since the start of the Syrian crisis.
According to our assessment, the situation is miserable, and the needs are immense and growing rapidly. We distributed water, tents, blankets, mattresses, and infant formula packs to those in immediate need. In addition to providing these items, we’ve also carried out water and sanitation activities, including water trucking to the collective centers to ensure access to clean water. MSF teams have also been cleaning latrines in the makeshift shelters to improve sanitation and prevent the spread of disease. These essential supplies are vital to ensuring the health, comfort, and dignity of those who have been forced to flee their homes.

The CTC currently has 90 beds, with capacity to scale up to 100.

On the evening of 17 November, a densely populated area in Sumy city, northeastern Ukraine was bombed. The explosion struck a courtyard surrounded by residential buildings, damaging 13 structures and dozens of apartments.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) emergency ambulance teams provided medical assistance to injured residents. According to preliminary information from local authorities, 84 people were wounded, including 11 children. Eleven fatalities were reported, among them two children: a nine-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.

While shopping with her mother at a nearby market this 20-month-old toddler was struck by shrapnel after a bomb-blast tore through the neighbourhood. Along with other casualties the unnamed girl was brought to the Bashair Training Hospital in South Khartoum. During the Xray a part of the girls skull cap fell onto the table. An MSF emergency team operated on the girl and managed to save her life.
