Yakah Mamadou, 46 is from Ngouboua, Chad, which has been attacked by Boko Haram in February. “The village has been burnt and people have been killed. I decided to fled to reach the family of my daughter in Forkouloum where the security situation is better”. The MSF mobile clinic is her only way to have healthcare.

There are people who tell us they have walked for 5 days to the Arughat hospital. This goes to show just how severely the earthquakes have destroyed the healthcare system

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is responding to the urgent needs of the displaced people in this isolated area by providing emergency medical/ncare as well as treatment for cholera patients

In recent days, 1,300 Nigerians were evacuated from Lake Chad (where they had taken refuge after fleeing the conflict in the northeast of the country). These departures are following major ongoing clashes on the islands of Lake Chad, Niger side. These thousands of refugees are the first returns on Borno State - northeast of Nigeria - more are expected in the coming days. MSF initiates emergency assistance for these people.
