Portel has dealt historically with a lack of health professionals and facilities, particularly in hard-to-reach remote areas which are home to vulnerable river dweller communities.

Belgium

MSF has worked with refugees and migrants in Belgium since 2017.

Dr Dieudonné has been on assignement at the Klouékanmè Hospital since October 2023. He supports the medical team, provides training in obstetrical care and helps organize the department.

Benin

Since the beginning of MSF's intervention in the country, the team has organized more than 800 awareness sessions on COVID-19, so that people are sensitized, oriented and have access to correct information about the disease.

Bolivia

MSF worked in Bolivia from 2019 to 2021, providing sexual reproductive healthcare and support in the fight against COVID-19. At the end of 2021 we handed over our activities to the Ministry of Health.
