Mr Leung, aged 72, was in a dilemma when he came for a  consultation at the MSF mobile vaccination clinic. He was concerned about the rising number of unvaccinated individuals dying. He would like to be vaccinated but is worried about the adverse effects of the vaccines and whether his heart condition allows it. Dr Joyce Ching, MSF medical doctor, spent more than half an hour listening closely to his worries and analysing his medical condition. It’s an approach that the MSF mobile team has used to ensure that the care we provide is people-centred, attentive, dignified and addressing the root cause of hesitancy about vaccines.

Two weeks after devastating earthquakes struck northwest Syria, impacting thousands of lives, an urgent scale up of humanitarian assistance is still needed.  Press Release - 22 Feb 2023
 
A Médecins Sans Frontières convoy of 14 trucks entered northwestern Syria today, arriving from Türkiye through the Hammam border crossing point. This first convoy carries 1,296 tents destined to IDPs and families (of 5 people or more) left homeless by the earthquake and 1,296 winter kits to insulate the tents from the cold. Other MSF convoys are planned to follow quickly to deliver medical and non-medical equipment.
