In 2022, MSF open a biosafety level 3 laboratory in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, for the testing of mycobacterium tuberculosis. In November 2023, MSF handed over the laboratory to the Ukraine Ministry of Health. The mycobacterium tuberculosis culture is tested against different antibiotics in the laboratory. Wearing protection is mandatory for workers during this procedure.

Anhar Hassan Mohammed Omar, 29 years old, lives in the Jir South neighborhood of Nyala. She faced many challenges, including not having enough money to reach the hospital. She worked 16-hour shifts continuously to cover the costs of treatment and nutrition from the beginning of her pregnancy until her ninth month. She arrived at Nyala Teaching Hospital, underwent a C-section, and received all the necessary medical services. She mentioned that many pregnant women in this critical period lack proper healthcare and expressed her deep gratitude to all the staff.

Amman, Jordan. 27 August, 2024. Karam, 17, from Nuseirat Camp in central Gaza, during a physiotherapy session at MSFÕs Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman, Jordan. Karam nearly died after his familyÕs house was leveled by an Israeli airstrike. He suffered severe burns to his face and other areas of his body, and also suffered a serious injury to his arm. He is receiving comprehensive reconstructive surgery and physiotherapy at the MSF hospital in Amman.

During the last incursion, Israeli forces destroyed a significant amount of road infrastructure as well as cutting off access to electricity and water. One week after military forces withdrew, people still struggled to access clean water as many of the pumps were cut and water tanks had been shot and ruptured. Many houses in Jenin refugee camp are marked by bullet holes. Residents talk about recurrent house occupations from Israeli soldiers who also occupy strategic positions to dig a hole for snipers.
