Chokwe - 1,000 consultations per day

Care to the stranded - who must still await rescue

MSF teams in Chokwe are distributing potable water and BP5 high protein biscuits to the stranded population there. In order to have faster access to the population MSF teams remained in the flooded area overnight where they stayed in a basic structure installed on the roof of a factory there. Sudan

MSF closes one team but remains active in southern Sudan

Some of the leading humanitarian organisations currently active in southern Sudan have been forced to withdraw from the rebel-held territory after they had refused to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the SRRA, the humanitarian branch of the Sudanese People's Liberation Army (SPLA). Chokwe flood victims face dam-burst threat

Flood waters and stranded populations remain the presing concerns for the MSF workers currently in Mozambique. The focus has been on caring for stranded populations who are awaiting evacuation to safer districts.
