Following the validation of shorter regimen by WHO, MSF started supporting the Ministry of Health in implementing shorter regimen for patients affected by DR-TB since 2022 in Sierra Leone. Depending on individual patients’ diagnostic and clinical situation treatment regimens are initiated. Shorter regimens are often preferred by patients and medical professionals as longer treatment can be physically and mentally harder to adhere to.

People are getting water from the MSF distribution point in Metche camp. The distribution point is refilled twice a day. In November, the Metche camp is receiving some 6 litres a water per person daily, which is far below the recommended World Health Organisations 20 liters per person per day.  
Metche camp is some 40 kilometers from Adré, the main entry and settlement town for refugees and returnees coming from Sudan. Almost 40,000 people have been resettled to Metche from Adré.
