No new Ebola cases in Kampungu after incubation period runs its course

Kampungu was a difficult location to control an outbreak because it does not have any electricity or running water - water was brought in by jerry cans carried by the local population. There was no normal hospital infrastructure but nevertheless, MSF was able to provide care to the patients with facilities adapted to needs. Project Update - 25 Oct 2007

In Dinsor, MSF runs a hospital since 2002. The worst drought of the last ten years deteriorates the food and water situation in the region. The number of admissions to the therapeutic feeding centre increases daily. MSF has started to run weekly mobile clinics in several villages of the district in order to provide medical aid in even more remote areas. One of the biggest problems in Somalia is the unstable security situation. After 15 years of war the country still lacks a functioning government. *** Local Caption *** Bolo Guudud, one of the places where MSF runs a mobile clinic. One a week, an MSF team provides healthcare to the population of the village and its surroundings. Severely malnutrioned children are referred to Dinsor's therapeutic feeding center.
