I was born here, and I live in this area.
I have lived in this area since the day my mother gave birth to me in 1956.
When the Occupation came in 1967, we stayed here.
We got the first notices that our home was to be demolished in 2011. We appealed to the court through a lawyer, 
and between 2011 and 2017, they did not demolish anything. 
One day in 2017, they came and demolished the house without warning.
In 2017, they demolished four rooms and two bathrooms. 
In December 2021, they demolished five rooms and three bathrooms. 
On 11 May 2022, they demolished five rooms, three bathrooms and three caravans".

"On Saturday, when I heard the first gunshots outside at about 8.30am while having breakfast, I was just starting what I thought was my last day in Khartoum. My luggage was ready, my fridge and cupboards emptied, with just a few hours to wait before going to the airport to fly home after one year spent in Sudan."

"Quickly, we all went down to the safe room of our guesthouse, in the basement. I spent the day there sitting on the floor, along with more than 10 colleagues, jumping at the sound of heavy shootings, of low-flying war planes and subsequent bangs from air strikes. The sound was echoing in the room, walls and small windows were shaking. The sound of silence often ensued a blast, never lasting for long. "

Hospital patients and staff facing difficult conditions amid Sudan conflict

The intense fighting across Sudan has made it difficult for patients to access healthcare and for healthcare workers to provide treatment. Health and relief workers need to access injured people and health facilities to help save lives. Voices from the Field - 21 Apr 2023
 
The MSF hospital in Agok is the only facility providing secondary care in the entire Abyei region of South Sudan. This structure deals with emergencies, surgeries, treatments of HIV, tuberculosis, chronic diseases as well as neglected diseases, such as snake bites, a real scourge in the region. In 2019, in order to improve the quality of care, a radiology room was set up and the pharmacy was extended. A lack of specialized structures in the surrounding states forces some patients to travel very long distances to get to Agok hospital, some have to walk for up to 10 hours. This phenomenon illustrates the need for a comprehensive hospital in a country where health care is almost non-existent
