In the last 4 days we served 8 hospitals with donations in La Guaira, some of them several times. Total supported treatment on different levels for over 3,500 patients. Needs continue and we continue to support health structures and we will soon start mobile clinics in parcs, stadiums and spontaneous settlements where many displaced people are currently staying.

Between 2021 and 2026, MSF provided more than 76,000 outpatient consultations across Palma district, supporting communities affected by conflict, displacement, and the collapse of healthcare services following the March 2021 attack on Palma. MSF activities included treatment for malaria, respiratory infections and diarrhoeal diseases, as well as maternal healthcare, mental health support, and HIV and TB care. 

“At the beginning, nobody was paying attention to HIV,” says Edwin Moshi. “We had patients who knew their status but were unable to continue treatment for different reasons, and others who denied their diagnosis. Inadequate follow‑up led to patients being lost from care.”
