MSF increases role in Baucau

MSF staff has expanded to 18 members in East Timor. Ten are in Dili and another eight are in Baucau. This means the initial exploratory team of three to Baucau have been augmented by both supplies and staff in the recent cargo flight, chartered by MSF.

Two other staff members are in Dili, assisting with the coordination of MSF activities in East Timor.

The largest MSF operation remains the activities in the Stadium in Dili. MSF staff are conducting approximately 120 consultations per day.

In Dili, MSF is also distributing plastic sheeting, collapsible water bags and food, as needed.

In Baucau, MSF has set up a temporary clinic in a former military hospital. There has also been an exploratory mission to Los Palos and Souro where the team met with medics who are active there.
