Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) is reducing the number of international volunteers in Afghanistan following the attack on the World Trade Center in New York, USA.

The situation in Afghanistan is considered to be tense but quiet. The MSF teams have withdrawn completely from the capital Kabul and its vincinity.

Also, the MSF project in Bala Morghab will be suspended temporarily. MSF feels very committed to the refugees and displaced in and around Afghanistan. However the organisation is reassessing the current situation constantly.
