In northern Côte d’Ivoire, we responded to the needs of refugees displaced by recurrent violence in neighbouring countries. While some are hosted by local families, many live in precarious conditions with limited access to basic services, including healthcare. Our teams provided both refugees and host communities with general healthcare, including reproductive health consultations and referrals, focusing on Ouangolodougou and Téhini districts. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, we also supported routine immunisation activities and preventive measles vaccination campaigns.  

MSF is supporting the Ministry of Health with a pilot project on mental health and epilepsy in the Gbêkê region. In 2025, the project provided consultations and treatments, enrolled new patients, and referred people in need of higher-level care. We also conducted health education activities with communities, to raise awareness about mental health conditions and epilepsy.

Following the declaration of a cholera outbreak in Abidjan in June, MSF, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and partners, began a coordinated and comprehensive response in the Port-Bouët–Vridi and Yopougon Est districts. We established and fully equipped three cholera treatment units.
