Syria

Newly displaced Syrians face multiple challenges in Idlib and northern Hama

Over the past two months, huge numbers of Syrians have been displaced from formerly besieged areas to northwest Syria, with more than 60,000 of them arriving in the governorate of Idlib and in northern Hama. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is providing assistance throughout the area, and has strengthened the medical response in Qalaat al-Madiq in northern Hama, a location known as ‘zero point’ where new arrivals descend from buses. MSF-supported hospitals treat mass casualties caused by airstrikes in Sana'a

A series of airstrikes on Monday morning by the Saudi and Emirati-led coalition struck near a busy street in the heart of Sana'a, Yemen. The airstrikes targeted the Yemeni presidential office, which is located near a hotel, pharmacies, a bank and shops, and resulted in a mass casualty influx of at least 72 injured and 6 dead at two hospitals supported by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The mounting mental health toll in Upper Nile State

The Malakal Protection of Civilian site (PoC) was created at the beginning of 2014 to offer temporary protection to the population of the area who were caught up in fighting in South Sudan's Upper Nile region. But four years on, the difficult living conditions, the loss of hope, feelings of enclosure, as well as limited livelihood opportunities have had an effect on the mental health of those who are trapped inside. Syria

Zero point – displaced from East Ghouta and in need of treatment

Close to 60,000 people have been displaced from East Ghouta to northwest Syria in the space of just a month. A significant number of these men, women and children are injured or sick and in need of medical care. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) participated in the medical response. MSF supports the main hospital in charge of triaging and treating these patients at a location known as “zero point”, where the new arrivals descend from buses. On the evening of April 10th, patients flocked to the MSF Sica hospital in Bangui following the resumption in the afternoon of the operation of MINUSCA and Central African security forces in PK5 district in Bangui on the 10th. April against local armed groups, which gave rise to fighting. Le 10 avril en soirée, les patients ont afflué à l'hôpital MSF Sica de Bangui suite à la reprise dans l'après-midi de l'opération de la MINUSCA et des forces de sécurité centrafricaine dans le quartier de PK5 à Bangui le 10 avril contre des groupes armés locaux, qui a donné lieu à des combats.
