Project for Somali refugees in Ethiopia handed over

MSF has handed over one of its largest projects for Somali refugees in Ethiopia. The number of refugees crossing the border has significantly gone down since the large humanitarian crisis of 2011. MSF initiated the project in the Hiloweyn camp, one of the five refugee camps near to the border between Ethiopia and Somalia, in August 2011, at the height of the crisis. Mauritania

Nearly one thousand Malian refugees pour into the Mbera camp every day

Since late January, some 57,000 Malians have entered the Mbera refugee camp in Mauritania. Refugee numbers are steadily increasing, from 200 arrivals on April 5 to 1,500 a day. In response to this massive influx, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is bolstering its activities and emergency medical aid in this desert area, where access to medical care is extremely limited. Lebanon

Caring for the most vulnerable

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing mental healthcare in two refugee camps in Lebanon for the past three years, both to Palestinian refugees and to vulnerable Lebanese in the area.
Now MSF has opened a new project in northern Lebanon, following the arrival of 4,500 Syrians who have fled the unrest in their country. Bruno Jochum, General Director of MSF, is just back from the region.
