We set up the MSF Access Campaign in 1999 to push for access to, and the development of, life-saving and life-prolonging medicines, diagnostic tests and vaccines for people in our programmes and beyond.

This logistical centre in Amsterdam purchases, tests, and stores equipment including vehicles, communications material, power supplies, water-processing facilities and nutritional supplements.

A cholera response among fishing communities on and around Lake Chilwa

Each year there are between three million and five million cases of cholera worldwide, causing between 100,000 to 120,000 deaths. In 2014, MSF treated around 21,000 cases of cholera in its projects worldwide. The first case of cholera was registered in Malawi in 1973. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of independence and impartiality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation.
