Almost 40,000 people living in the Metche camp are facing a daily struggle for clean water, receiving only 6 liters of water daily, far below the recommended 20 liters of water per day per person. 
MSF water and sanitation teams are working to identify and put in place new water collections points to increase the water distribution in the camps. 
 
Metche is around 40 kilometers from bordertown Adré, from where refugees were recolated to the camp in September 2023. Previously home to only 2,000 to 5,000 people, the people living in the camp are now facing an acute shortage of water.
