Abdul 11 month, has been admitted for malnutrition in the MSF center of intensive nutritional treatment in Gwange (district of Maiduguri). His family fled to Mafa. She is host by parents in Maiduguri. The displaced people living among the host community do not receive food help.

MSF begins surgical activities in the city of Maiduguri, treating victims of a large attack.

Since last March, MSF is implementing a preventive and curative comprehensive care package programme (known by its French acronym as PPCSI) in Tama area, Bouza district, in the region of Tahoua. The main objective of the programme is to provide comprehensive healthcare for all the children under 24 months old, with a special focus on the main causes of infant mortality: malaria, malnutrition, respiratory infections and diarrhoea.

Getting children to grow healthily

An innovative strategy consisting of moving the treatment of severe acute malnutrition out of hospitals was expanded massively for the first time, and reached a record number of children.Ten years later, strategies to tackle other deadly diseases in Niger are combining with the fight against malnutrition in a public health approach. A cholera epidemic that has been spreading in Kenya for over a year hit Dadaab refugee camp complex in November 2015. As at 16 December, around 541 people in Dadaab had reportedly been affected, the majority of whom are living in Dagahaley camp. MSF has expanded its regular hospital activities in Dagahaley and has constructed a cholera treatment centre to deal with the influx of patients. In the space of three weeks, MSF admitted 307 patients to its treatment centre.

A cholera epidemic that has been spreading in Kenya for over a year has now hit the Dadaab Refugee Camp complex, on the border with Somalia. So far around 541 people have reportedly been affected, the majority of whom are living in Dagahaley Camp. Project Update - 17 Dec 2015

Interiew with Madeleine Habib - Captain of Dignity

Madeleine Habib ran away to sea in her early twenties and found a perfect blend of physical work and mental challenges. She worked from boat to boat, following her love of the sea and passion for environmental and social activism.
