On october 26th, the Haydan hospital we support in northern Yemen has been hit by several air strikes. The first bombing took place at 22:30 local time and last midnight. Miriam, project coordinator in Saada, went this morning Haydan, but could not enter the building because there were still bombs that had not exploded. The hospital is completely destroyed: the emergency room, OPD, IPD, the laboratory, motherhood and the block. But the bombing did not cause any casualties. Only one person was slightly injured. Staff and two hospitalized patients could leave the building after the first strike. This hospital was still functional only for the whole Haydan region which has a population of about 200,000 inhabitants. On average 150 patients had received emergency a week by personnel from the Department of Health that is supported with incentives. The Haydan region bordering Saudi Arabia is in Sa'ada governorate, which is controlled by the Houthis. It is bombarded every day by the coalition led by Saudi Arabia.

MSF hospital destroyed by airstrikes

Airstrikes carried out late last night by the Saudi-led coalition in northern Yemen destroyed a small MSF supported hospital. Hospital staff and patients managed to escape before subsequent airstrikes occurred over a two hour period. MSF demands explanations after deadly airstrikes hit hospital in Kunduz

Kabul/Brussels – MSF condemns in the strongest possible terms the horrific aerial bombing of its hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan. Twelve staff members and 10 patients, including three children, were killed; 37 people were injured including 19 staff members. This attack constitutes a grave violation of International Humanitarian Law.

All indications currently point to the bombing being carried out by international Coalition forces. MSF demands a full and transparent account from the Coalition regarding its aerial bombing activities over Kunduz on Saturday morning. Afghanistan: MSF hospital overwhelmed with wounded after heavy fighting in Kunduz

MSF's trauma hospital has been overwhelmed with wounded as heavy fighting in Kunduz. “The hospital is inundated with patients,” says Guilhem Molinie, MSF’s Country Representative in Afghanistan. “We have quickly increased the number of beds from 92 to 110 to cope with the unprecedented level of admissions, but people keep arriving. We have 130 patients spread throughout the wards, in the corridors and even in offices. Kobane Health Administration launches a measles vaccination campaign with support of MSF

“The campaign took place in four locations in Kobane town to provide easy access to vaccination sites for residents” said Jason Mills, MSF Head of Mission. The Kobane Health Administration, in cooperation with MSF teams, provided measles vaccination and vitamin A for children between six month and five years of age. The campaign started on 18 of August and lasted for six days in town; followed by three days in four rural locations in the canton. “The teams vaccinated 3,410 children in Kobane town and 2,366 in the surrounding villages.” Mills added. Half a million more people under siege as intense bombing in Damascus region results in one of the bloodiest months since conflict began

“August was the worst month we’ve seen medically,” says an MSF-supported hospital director in one of the besieged areas. “Anyone who isn’t injured or dead can count themselves lucky. Enough death and siege. Enough blood and misery.
