We set up the MSF Access Campaign in 1999 to push for access to, and the development of, life-saving and life-prolonging medicines, diagnostic tests and vaccines for people in our programmes and beyond.

Dr Martial Ledecq is a surgeon who is just back in Belgium from a one-month mission in one of the four makeshift medical facilities set up by MSF in the north of Syria. MSF has been working in Syria for the past two months, trying to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the conflict. With the help of a group of Syrian doctors, a team was able to turn an empty house into an emergency hospital in six days.
