A new clinic providing essential basic medical care as well as emergency and obstetric services has been opened in Machar Colony by MSF together with Sina Health, Education and Welfare Trust (SINA). MSF treats patients with acute watery diarrhoea

During the monsoon season, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw an increase in the number of people diagnosed with acute watery diarrhoea, a condition caused by dirty drinking water, poor sanitation, and poor hygiene conditions. MSF operates in the heart of the tribal areas

The situation in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was particularly unstable in 2010 and early 2011. Spikes of violence, isolation, closure of supply routes, and the near-collapse of the health system created obstacles to obtaining medical care. MSF has been working in Kurram Agency since 2004, supporting the hospitals in Alizai (a Shiite community) and Sadda (a Sunni enclave) since May 2006 and is trying to meet the populations' medical needs. Urban Survivors

Over the last decades, rapid and sustained urbanisation has swelled existing slums, and spurred the creation of new ones around the world. Today, more than one out of ten people on the planet live in a slum. Providing basic healthcare to families displaced by severe flooding

Following an independent assessment of health needs, MSF is running mobile clinics in camps for displaced people in Tando Bago sub-district, providing basic healthcare. The most common medical conditions are diarrhoea, respiratory tract infections, skin diseases, fever and malaria. MSF’s team is also supporting staff in providing outpatient consultations at the Tando Bago Tehsil hospital. MSF has provided jerrycans, soap and bed nets to more than 750 displaced families, and has distributed 48,000 litres per day of clean drinking water in villages and camps for displaced people.
