The emergency intervention launched following the earthquake in India at the beginning of February is ending and the last MSF team will leave the Bhuj region. MSF projects in India remain active. The majority of the team members have already returned, after what can be considered as a successful operation.

The post-earthquake operation was one of the largest operations in the history of MSF and was set up in a very short time, with no less than 64 aid flights being organised within approximately one month. Materials distributed included plastic sheeting, blankets and 15,000 family tents.

In addition, local people were trained in collaboration with Catholic Relief Services to provide assistance to the many victims in psychological need after their traumatic experiences and loss of friends and family members.
