MSF is continuing to provide humanitarian assistance to the Western peninsula (including Freetown) as well as to Pujehun, Bo, Moyamba, Kenema and Matru in the Southern and Eastern provinces, and to the Northern province town of Kabala.

In Freetown, MSF maintains a surgical team and is providing assistance to displaced persons. In the Southern province MSF supports 28 clinics and the three district hospitals: 12 clinics and a district hospital in Pujehun, 13 clinics and a provincial hospital in Bo, and a clinic and a hospital in Bonthe. Many of these structures have been rehabilitated by MSF.

Also MSF runs a mental health programme for people traumatized by war and for victims of human rights abuses in Freetown, Kenema and Bo. The programmes in Kambia and Makeni had to be suspended after the recent renewal of fighting.
