MSF treating victims of violence in Masisi region, North Kivu

"Masisi is completely isolated. The main road between Masisi and Goma (60 km) is highly insecure. On top of this, the bad condition of the roads, due to heavy rains, probably impedes the return of other displaced people. We are concerned by the bad living conditions of these people. Peru

MSF increases assistance in post-earthquake region of Peru

MSF first started working at the Peru earthquake on August 17, with staff and a shipment of relief supplies to the region. To date, over 2,200 people have benefited from the MSF mental health programme and, so far, 2,500 families (around 12,500 people) have benefited from MSF distributions of relief goods.

Currently, an MSF team is en route to join the two staff already working in the Masisi hospital. The new team consists of a surgeon, an anesthetist and two nurses.
