Surge in the number of Somali refugees demands increased capacity

MSF treats wounded after camp for displaced is hit by bombardment in Lower Juba

MSF staff are treating dozens of injured following an aerial bombardment on the town of Jilib that hit a camp for internally-displaced people at around 1:30 pm on Sunday. MSF is transporting the wounded to the hospital in Marere for stabilisation and treatment, and may have to refer some patients to other facilities due to limits to the surgical capacity at the hospital. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff - most of them hired locally. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of independence and impartiality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation.
