Bundibugyo, Uganda, now ebola free

Cholera and malnutrition add to the extreme suffering in North Kivu, DRC

Access to health care for these people was already weak, but is even more limited today. The fighting has forced several aid organisations to suspend their activities, and health centres are not getting any supplies, or are deserted by the medical staff. People with AIDS in southeast Asia needlessly becoming blind due to a neglected virus

"This is a classic case of the vicious circle," said Dr. Tido von Schoen-Angerer, Director of the MSF Campaign for Access to Essential Medicines. "Because the price of the drug is so high, HIV programmes aren't screening and therefore are not reporting large numbers of CMV patients.
