Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), as an employer, provides staff with rewards packages that include salaries and benefits. The benefits and salary a staff member receive depends on their position, where they work, and how they are contracted.
MSF’s staff rewards are based on global frameworks and grids, applicable to different categories of staff and on local labour markets, laws, regulations, and practices. They also reflect a Global Rewards approach composed of three pillars:
- Grading: a Global Grading Framework to ensure consistent grading of all jobs across the organisation.
- Pay: salaries primarily based on responsibility, framed by a Global Pay Policy Framework, and complimented by detailed policies supporting its application.
- Benefits: non-salary elements that support staff’s financial security, well-being, and ability to perform their role, provided in addition to pay and in accordance with MSF policies.
Our staff rewards are also based on a set of principles and framing documents agreed at the international level of our organisation, which can be found here.
