MSF’s advocacy on climate, environment and health began with a recognition that climate change affects the health and humanitarian needs of the communities it serves. Early steps in these efforts were marked by internal milestones, such as the 2017 MSF International General Assembly (IGA) environmental motion, which officially introduced climate change and health as a priority within MSF. This motion urged the organization to address both its environmental footprint and the escalating health impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations.
