FAQ

The LGBTQI+ Inclusion TIC focuses on LGBTQI+ inclusion at the patient level. Our project is the first of its kind at MSF that aims to transform how LGBTQ+ patients are welcomed and treated in MSF health projects. LGBTQI+ people across the globe face barriers when trying to access healthcare due to legal and societal discrimination, stigmatization, and bias. We recognize that most MSF countries exhibit very low levels of social acceptance and freedom for LGBTQI+ people, which exacerbates health care disparities and the lack of access to care and suggests a need for a proper intervention. However, the LGBTQI+ Inclusion TIC recognizes the importance of inclusion initiatives for LGBTQI+ staff within MSF and unilaterally supports the MSF Rainbow Network, the intersectional group of MSF staff who are part of the LGBTQI+ community and its allies. The Rainbow Network has many ongoing initiatives working on LGBTQI+ equality in the workplace, which you can read more about here: [insert link to Rainbow Network page]

Thank you for your interest in an in-person training on LGBTQI+ Inclusive Care for your project. We are working on developing a comprehensive training session that can be implemented at the project level. For more information about this training and the launch date, please contact the LGBTQI+ Inclusion Project team at [insert valid contact info here]. Please include your name and position, the name and location (country & city) of your project, which OC your project is attached to, what type of medical care your project provides, your preferred dates for an intervention, a brief description of why you believe your project is in need of an LGBTQI+ inclusion training, and any other details you believe to be relevant.
