This logistical centre in Amsterdam purchases, tests, and stores equipment including vehicles, communications material, power supplies, water-processing facilities and nutritional supplements.

SAMU provides strategic, clinical and implementation support to various MSF projects with medical activities related to HIV and TB. This medical unit is based in Cape Town, South Africa.

MSF operates in the heart of the tribal areas

The situation in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was particularly unstable in 2010 and early 2011. Spikes of violence, isolation, closure of supply routes, and the near-collapse of the health system created obstacles to obtaining medical care. MSF has been working in Kurram Agency since 2004, supporting the hospitals in Alizai (a Shiite community) and Sadda (a Sunni enclave) since May 2006 and is trying to meet the populations' medical needs. Despite increased support, limited access prevents the scope of MSF intervention in Kurram Agency, Pakistan

For several years now, the limitation of access to Kurram for our international staff, including medical specialists, is limiting our intervention. Neglected diseases

Evian G8 - MSF calls for promises to be kept

14 million people die each year from infectious and parasitic diseases. That is 19,000 people per day, or 6 people every 30 seconds. Can we accept this? The MSF teams will symbolise the urgency of the current situation through the spectacle "Suspended Life". Every 30 seconds an MSF volunteer will try to reach a giant pill from the top of a 6-metre structure. Unable to reach the pill, the volunteer falls into the void... This new MSF exhibit premieres at the G8 conference.
