Generic drugs in South Africa: Invitation to press briefing

On Tuesday January 29, at the AIDS Consortium in Johannesburg, South Africa, MSF and fellow groups shall make announcement regarding the use of generic antiretroviral drugs in South Africa.
  • Members of the Treatment Action Campaign and Médecins Sans Frontières will explain how this action cuts in half the cost of AIDS drugs used in a pilot programme run by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
  • MSF will report on the use of antiretroviral therapy in Khayelitsha, a township of Cape Town, and on the feasibility of the use these drugs in resource-poor settings
