In contrast to media reports, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is currently not providing any medical care in Slavyansk.

As an emergency medical organisation MSF is closely monitoring events in the Ukraine and is ready to respond if necessary.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organisation working in more than 70 countries around the world. MSF is neutral, independent and impartial, treating people on the basis of need alone, regardless of gender, race, religion or political affiliation.

In 2012 MSF set up a programme to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) in the Donetsk region, which is continuing to run as normal. In February, MSF also sent a surgeon and mental health specialists to help treat the wounded and to provide psychological support following the protests in Kiev.
