People absolutely are not going back inside what is left of their houses because they are afraid...Every hour we have aftershocks... As we speak, I know there is cargo on the way. There is a whole team of surgeons, doctors, nurses and logisticians arriving tomorrow... There is a huge plane with cargo coming.

During normal situations, this is quite a difficult area to reach but now it has become almost impossible... There are 60 children plus their teacher who have all died. Children from age 10 to 16. They have all died. Nobody survived... I think the fatalities are enormous.

1st audio file: Oct. 8:
Eyewitness account: Windows Media     Real Player
Around me all the houses are destroyed... These are harsh living conditions and the winter will be coming soon. This is not a good situation at all... It will be extremely difficult to get help. It has to come through the air. The biggest needs are water, shelter, blankets, medical supplies.
