Mouna, step by step Episode 3 – Put to the test

00:13 - Commentaire: After the fitting session with the prosthetics technician, Mouna is now waiting to see the physiotherapist again. Day in day out she fights to learn to live with her new legs.

00:25 - Itv oncle de Mouna:(en arabe): "She did something she thought she’d never be able to do again: she walked again"

00:32 - Itv Mouna, (en arabe): "I want to walk again so I can leave hospital"

00:38 - Commentaire: Mouna has been in Amman for 5 months... Yesterday, the technician told her that to be able to walk on her artificial limbs she’d have to build up the muscle in her thighs … She also needs to be able to straighten her knee completely… but she can’t do that yet.

This is a difficult session for Mouna. The closer she gets to reaching her goal, the more intense the effort required.

To walk without any pain, she needs to be able to straighten her leg. During their session together, the physiotherapist warms up her muscles, helping to prepare her body.

01:26 - ITV Faris Bin Yassin, kinésithérapeute (en aarbe): "I want to stretch the muscle and the joint, so I’m working the patella and the bone.

01:38 - Commentaire: Mouna will need another three sessions before starting to walk with her artificial limbs. Further, even more painful challenges lie ahead…
