Director of Information Systems
The Director of Information Systems establishes and implements the Information Systems’ agenda based on an agreed technology vision and strategy, with a view to increasing the impact and efficiency of the organisation through the appropriate use of information systems. Specifically, he/ she reinforces the effectiveness of information systems services and capabilities to support the operational ambitions as described in the MSF-Switzerland Strategic Plan.
The main responsibilities for the position are:
Provide leadership, vision and direction to the IS department in support of the organisation’s strategic objectives via the development and implementation of agreed annual plans of action, reflecting evolving technologies and practicies and the opportunities they present.
Provide advice and support to the Management Team to define new IS projects focusing on innovation, quality and efficiency improvements, as well as data collection and usage. In close collaboration with ‘client’ departments, drive these projects to smooth and timely completion.
Ensure availability and security of the IS and communication infrastructure
Lead and manage the IS Department through quality people management. This includes recruiting, training, managing a team of skilled, motivated and customer oriented team members, in full respect of MSF-Switzerland HR policies and frameworks.
Prepare, manage and report on the department’s budgets.
Represent the interests of MSF-Switzerland at international level and increase inter-sectional collaboration by actively promoting common standards, policies, best practices and harmonization through taking part in the Information Systems Management platform’s work
Context: The Director of Information Systems reports to the Deputy General Director. He/she manages two units made up of 15 staff members. He/she represents MSF-Switzerland in the MSF movement wide Information Systems Management platform.

Fluent in English (oral and written) and French (oral).
IS Specific competencies and skills
Information systems management or engineering;
Knowledge and experience of Information Systems management, both at a strategic and operational level, including budget management. Experience in multi-site organization, international projects and coordination. Concrete experience in project management, both in infrastructure and client oriented projects. Sound knowledge of ERPs (mainly Axapta- Dynamics, SAP and Odoo), system solutions and/or business applications. Experience of working for a not-for-profit organisation is an asset.
Permanent contract, full-time position (100%).
Based in Geneva, Switzerland
Gross annual salary: CHF 116’868
