The Sunday Times Darfur Appeal

This year The Sunday Times Appeal is supporting Médecins Sans Frontières work in Darfur, western Sudan.

Since November 2003, MSF has been present in Darfur assisting a population who have fled their homes due to violence and fear. This humanitarian crisis is MSF's largest medical relief operation.

We estimate that we are currently reaching around 700,000 people in 26 locations throughout the Darfur region and across the border in Chad. MSF teams are feeding malnourished children, conducting medical consultations, treating victims of violence and running mobile clinics to reach people in inaccessible areas. We are also providing clean water and latrines to reduce the risk of disease.
