Starting today, the Albanian government and the UNHCR will start relocating Kosovan refugees from Kukes to places in the south. MSF supports the idea of relocating them on the grounds of the potential danger of shelling from Kosovo. Also, the water supply and other public facilities in Kukes will not be sufficient for the refugee population during the summer.

The MSF teams in Kukes are therefore cooperating with the operation by distributing information leaflets prepared by the UNHCR to the refugees but will also tell them that it is not clear what the conditions will be like at the places of arrival.
