Photo of the Week: 20 years ago today - The Rwandan Genocide

The spring of 1994 marked the most tragic period in the Rwandan history as between 500,000 and one million men, women and children were brutally murdered during a violent campaign of genocide committed by forces loyal to the Rwandan Government.

Twenty years after the Rwandan Genocide, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is publishing for the first time its Speaking Out Case Studies via the website speakingout.msf.org. The first case study: Genocide of Rwandan Tutsis 1994 depicts the MSF reaction when confronted with systematic extermination of Rwandan Tutsis between April and July 1994.
