Panama: MSF brings aid to indigenous people

  • National staff : 12
  • International staff : 4

MSF provides technical support to a health care network in the district of Kankintu in northern Panama. Today there are only two health centres but in the future there will be five.

MSF is focusing on the relaunch of primary health care services in this district which has been greatly neglected. MSF is providing training to health staff, community health committees, community health promoters and traditional midwives. Several health posts are two days walk away from the referral Health centre. Referral is thus carried out by boat.
