For the first time since MSF was, along with all other humanitarian organisations, ejected from East Timor, MSF has been given access to return. A team of four MSF staff members - two with logistics, two medical - will be on a World Food Programme flight into Dili today.

The team will arrive with the first collection of supplies, including transport, and shall be responsible for an immediate assessment of the conditions in Dili and the surrounding regions as well as the areas for likely MSF action.

The advance team will also be developing the groundwork essential for the following teams currently awaiting transport from Jakarta, Indonesia and Darwin, Australia.
