Dilemmas in access to medicines: a humanitarian perspective

MSF's Research Unit on Humanitarian Stakes and Practices (UREPH) is pleased to announce the publication of “Dilemmas in access to medicines: a humanitarian perspective” by James Smith and Tammam Aloudat in The Lancet (Vol. 389, Iss. 10073, pp. 1007-1008). 

The authors challenge the assertion made by Govind Persad and Ezekiel Emanuel (Aug 27, p. 932) that “expanding access to less effective or more toxic [antiretroviral] treatments rather than requiring the worldwide best treatment in all settings” is ethically justifiable.
